Acquire God's Wisdom (Proverbs 4:1-9)
Solomon taught his son to acquire wisdom, as much as he can. He compares wisdom to a precious commodity that is to be valued above all else. Whatever it costs you, buy it up!
Just as David taught Solomon God’s wisdom as a child, so Solomon is now committed to teaching his sons the same. We must do the same. One of the greatest responsibilities of parents is to encourage their children to become wise. Fathers must urge their children to turn to God for wisdom.
Men, we must influence our children to buy up wisdom like a precious commodity. If they want wisdom, they must decide to go after it. It takes resolved determination on their part to search the Scriptures and to seek the Lord in prayer in order to attain it.
Encourage your kids to read and study the Word of God, which is able to make them wise (2 Timothy 3:15). Call them to walk in close fellowship with Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and understanding (Colossians 2:3). Teach them to pray earnestly, from which comes wisdom from above (James 1:5).

I dream of a new reformation that is not simply a renewal of life but a new vision of life. As long as Christians restrict their Christianity to a religion, a faith that is compartmentalized and isolated from life, there can be revival but never reformation. We need to hear and do the Word of God in all of our lives."
